Covid Opening Plan 


 We strictly follow all CDC and OSHA guidelines for our re-opening. We believe the safety of our students, teachers, staff, and parents is paramount. 

  • Our reopening plan is consistent with the Nassau County Department of Health’s Office of Recreational Activities.

  • We have educated ourselves and our staff with on-line safety courses on the proper way to secure masks.


  • Students will remain in one class room per day and only leave that room if they need to use the restroom.

  • Restrooms and common areas will be wiped down after each use (door knobs, faucets, light switches and common touch areas) 

  • Students are instructed to wash their hands and must use the hand sanitizing station before re-entering the classroom.

  • Our Lobby will remain closed to all non-dancers.

  • All Classes will be streaming on Zoom for instruction and for parents viewing. Parents are encouraged to watch their child’s class from their phones or computer at anytime outside of the office. 

  • Dancers, parents and team members will have their temperature checked upon entry to the building and use hand sanitizer before entering the classroom.

  • Masks / face coverings will be worn by all. 

  • No student will share equipment (barres, mats, props, etc…)

  • Parents of Students and Staff members will be required to inform ASAPA of any travel to “hot spots” and will be required to take class virtually for 14 days upon returning.

  • Parents of students and Staff members will not be permitted to enter the studio if they are feeling sick. These individuals are encouraged to take class virtually until medically cleared to return. .

  • Parents of students and Staff members must report to us if they have tested positive for Covid19 or have been in contact with a person who has tested positive.

  • Students and staff will not be permitted back into the studio until it is safe for them to do so. 

  • Food or drinks are prohibited only personal isolated water bottles are used. 



  • We limit our class sizes to the legal capacity.

  • We have sectioned off our studio into 6 foot safety areas. (6 foot X 6 foot boxes per student)

  • Classes have been reduced to 50 mins to allow 10 mins for disinfecting of the floor and common surfaces between each changing class.

  • Dance rooms are disinfected and cleaned after each use 

  • Dance areas are disinfected regularly in the off hours. 

  • All Class sizes have been decreased and will be strictly limited.

  • We participated and utilizes all appropriate PPE received from the Town of Hempstead  Office for small businesses.  

  • 8 hand sanitizing units are on display throughout the studio. 

  • There are 2 hand sanitizing stations in each dance room. 

  • Cleaning and Disinfecting supplies are available in each classroom and available to staff or students.

  • Signs reminding of proper mask wearing, hand cleansing, and social distance are place in conspicuous areas throughout the studio.  

  • Students will remain in one class room per day and only leave that room if they need to use the restroom. 

  • All waiting chairs have been removed to ensure distancing.

  • The administrative area has a plexi shield and door.  



  • Our HVAC unit had its HEPA Merv 13 filters replaced 8/15/2020.

  • We have S.L.M. HVAC Company on retainer to change filters weekly.

  • All our Vents, ducts and filters are being sprayed monthly with a germicide treatment.

  • Chairs have been set distanced apart for safe temporary removal of masks if needed.
